*There are 2 sets of these earrings available, enter how many you would like under quantity. They are all in the same wood and similar in size, but each one is unique- thus the beauty of handmade.*

These earrings were created by my husband Jeff in one of our very favorite woods of all time- mountain mahogany. Mountain mahogany is just gorgeous. The colors can have such a wide range and some pieces Jeff and I think look like sunsets over the desert.

The wood also has a fun story- it came from a woodworking friend of Jeff's who drove along at just the right time to save the wood- a power company had cut the tree down from under the lines and were going to throw the wood out. He saved the wood thankfully, so it could be made into such beautiful things rather than chipped up.

Jeff sands and polishes the earrings so smooth, even around the edges (except the bottom bark side), you'll love the way they feel. All the sanding and polishing also brings out the beauty of the wood, and makes it glow. I love the different colors in the grain of these earrings! And I love the natural bark along the bottom edge. They are truly so unique!

(Our mountain mahogany earrings are not our most lightweight earrings, so if you are looking for our most lightweight earrings- cedar is the best choice.) These earrings went through a process to keep the bark on, more on that below. They come on sterling silver plated ear wires.

Made for the nature lover, may they bring you joy every time you wear them!

Measurements: 2 & 1/8 inches long. (3/8 inch wide.)

*This particular pair of earrings has gone through a process to keep the bark on. A note from Jeff: "A lot of folks like the look of buttons with the bark still on them, but this isn't possible with most woods because the bark will come off right away. So I came up with a method of adhering the bark with a special inert (non-toxic) adhesive that permeates the bark then holds it to the main wood. Any adhesive on the surface of the button is then sanded and polished off. This gives a really nice look especially with Hemlock and Sassafras."

....

Beautiful wood + lots of sanding + natural oil finish + polishing on the buffing wheel + a whole lotta love = some gorgeous and unique jewelry for you to enjoy. With so many fun designs and variations to choose from, we hope you'll find something you'll love!
