I absolutely love making mixed sets with the beautiful buttons that my husband Jeff makes. Sometimes there is a button leftover after a set, or one that doesn't quite match the others, and I get to put them together into a fun, eclectic mix. Our mixed sets of buttons are great for many different projects. If you need single buttons for different projects, the mixed sets are a good way to go. (Our mixed button sets are often discounted just a bit, so you can find some good deals.) Also- I've seen the mixed sets down the fronts of cardigans and they look amazing that way.

Jeff created these unique handmade wooden buttons (and one deer antler button from shed antler) with a variety of woods. After all the sanding and polishing he does, the buttons are so smooth, and you'll love the way they feel. Pictured with grey yarn, these buttons would pair nicely with many different colors.

Top row from left to right: shed deer antler, Oregon yew wood (A note: we don't recommend yew wood for baby items, in case they chew on the buttons, because there are some precautions), Oregon cascara wood (naturally yellow.) Bottom row from left to right: mystery wood, Oregon cascara (so many variations in this beautiful wood), and reclaimed sassafras. (The sassafras button went through a process to keep the bark on, more on that below.)

Each button is unique, yet they all go together to make a fun and eclectic group! Sure to add a beautiful, and special touch to your creative projects!

Measurements: All ranging from a little over 3/4 inch wide to 1 inch wide.

....

Beautiful wood + lots of sanding + natural oil finish + polishing on the buffing wheel + a whole lotta love = some gorgeous buttons for your special projects.

~Care Instructions~ Care for these buttons as you would wool: hand wash garment in cool water and lay flat to dry. If the wood should dry out from washing, a little walnut oil (or other natural oil) on a soft cloth works well to moisturize them. Oiling them will keep your buttons beautiful and protect them from drying out.

*The sassafras button has gone through a process to keep the bark on. A note from Jeff: "A lot of folks like the look of buttons with the bark still on them, but this isn't possible with most woods because the bark will come off right away. So I came up with a method of adhering the bark with a special inert (non-toxic) adhesive that permeates the bark then holds it to the main wood. Any adhesive on the surface of the button is then sanded and polished off. This gives a really nice look especially with Hemlock and Sassafras."
