*Bee's Organic Seeds*
Our son B has been planting and collecting seeds since he was a toddler. He decided to start his own seed business, called Bee's Organic Seeds.
Bee's Organic Seeds was a kid-started, and now a teenager-run seed business. B helps care for the plants in the garden and then sets to work collecting seeds every fall. There is a lot that goes into processing many of the seeds. (After processing, he plants seeds to check germination and only offers seeds with excellent germination rates!)
He creates the designs for his seed packets (I love them!), and then carefully packs each and every one. (Each packet of kale seeds contains over 100 seeds!)
We are proud of how hard he has worked to create his seed business, and B is really glad to be sharing his hard work so others can enjoy beautiful flowers and nutritious vegetables in their gardens too! Every seed is organically grown and pollinator friendly. Purchase these seeds if you'd like to support him in this work.
Bee's Organic Seeds also make delightful gifts for gardeners in your lives! Or for those wanting to get started!
(Every seed offered here begins as certified organic seed that we purchase (all non-GMO and open-pollinated), and is then grown organically in our garden. We are not certified organic, our family grows an organic garden on our small homestead.)

*Kale*
Our family grows a lot of kale in our garden every year because we love eating a lot of kale! We love it in soups, stir fries, quiches, and more. It's a delicious homegrown green that just can't be beat!
When you grow your own kale, you can have an abundance of the freshest kale right in your own backyard garden bed or in a pot on the balcony of your apartment!
If you allow a few of your kale plants to flower, it can provide a vital source of pollen and nectar for pollinators like bees and hummingbirds, who love the yellow flowers!
*Growing Kale*
Kale likes fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter. Plant seeds about 1/2 inch deep. Seeds can be planted outdoors directly in the ground, raised beds, or pots. Seeds can also be planted indoors or in a greenhouse, and then transplanted outdoors.
Kale is very cold-tolerant and it tastes sweeter after a frost. Where we live, in the coastal range of the Pacific Northwest with mild winters, we are able to grow kale year round, planting it spring through fall. It is possible to grow kale for much of the year, even in colder climates with snowy winters, with the help of cold frames or different kinds of frost protection.
The kale varieties in this mix of kale seeds are some of our favorites to grow and might include Lacinato, White Russian, and Red Russian type kale varieties.
Kale can be grown for baby greens in less than 30 days, and closer to 50 days for full size kale.
(The white powder on our kale seeds is diatamaceous earth, which we use to protect the seeds in storage from being eaten by bugs. The diatamaceous earth we use is organically approved for organic gardening.)

Your support of Bee's Organic Seeds makes it possible for B to continue expanding his seed business, and doing what he loves. It brings him a lot of joy to be sharing seeds and garden goodness with others!
Thanks for your support of Bee's Organic Seeds! And Happy Gardening!
