If you are looking for unique, handmade buttons for your creative projects, you've come to the right place!

These wooden buttons were created by my husband Jeff in buckthorn wood. Look at the amazing patterns in the grain, it's truly unique and one of a kind! We think it looks like intricate, mandala-like designs on each button.

I love the warm orangey yellow colors in this wood, and the rings of growth in these buttons. We've worked with buckthorn before and not all the pieces are this amazing! We have a limited amount of this wood, it's really special.

Jeff sands and polishes the buttons smooth, you'll love the way they feel. All the sanding and polishing also brings out the beauty of the wood and makes it glow.

The smaller sizes are more challenging to sand, but the extra efforts make for some amazing buttons!

~Care Instructions~
Care for these buttons similarly to washing wool: hand wash garment in cool water and lay flat to dry. The less time wood buttons spend in water, the better. Water can dry out the wood. Soaps and detergents even more so by removing the natural oil finish that protects the wood.
I have sometimes been able to submerge a garment for washing while keeping the wood buttons just barely up out of the water. If that doesn't work, I go for a quicker wash.
If the wood should dry out from washing, a little walnut oil (or other natural oil) on a soft cloth works well to moisturize them, and helps keep the buttons in better shape for longer.
